Sad Penguin.

I think it always shows when I’m sad. I’m one of those desperately transparent people.

When I’m feeling blue, I tend to gravitate towards whatever gloomy outfit I have. But oh well, being sad doesn’t mean you can’t look a bit nice right?

Sunday Mass was comforting too, so I guess I have enough to be thankful for. At least enough to stop complaining.

Anyway, for this look, it’s Forever 21 all the way <3 Nothing like your favorite brand to cheer you up on a crummy day.

Oh! Pretty headband. Definitely one of my le favorites. <3

Recuperating

Long story short, I got sick which made me realize how much I missed reading. But then I couldn’t read a lot of the books I have on my reading list because my buzzing head couldn’t handle any heavy reading, so I ended up hanging out with Nicholas Sparks. Oh well.

I was a Sparks fan back when I was in first and second year. Those were the days when I actively searched the library for any of his works. However, I grew up and kind of grew tired of him and the rest is history.

Anyway, this book was okay. It wasn’t bad but then again, it isn’t that memorable either. It had the usual Sparks elements: love, quotes, death and twists.

Despite the simplicity and familiarity of the same old same old plots, this particular quote made me smile.

I love it when I realize that reading a book hasn’t gone to complete waste. I’m not hating on Nicholas Sparks. No. It’s just that I have outgrown this genre.

Nevertheless, The Choice was a good read on a rainy day, and that’s all a sick penguin could really ask for.

I finished The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler a few weeks ago. This quote in particular struck me. I couldn’t help taking a picture.
And yes! I do highlight all my books which is why I’ll always prefer real books over e-books and whatnot.

Fluffy

Everything about this outfit brings out the fan girl in me. First off, the giant fluffy headband. I can’t even express how much I love it. I am SO in love with headbands right now that sometimes, I can’t even go out of the house without one on. Hahaha!

Secondly, there’s that rose ring. I think it’s too small to be seen in the picture, but anyway, I’ve been fangirl-ing over the giant statement rings too.

Lastly, high waist shorts. I’ve never been a fan of wearing shorts but these babies change that. I wish I could get more of them. Huhu.

Oh, and check out the make-shift belt. Hahahaha. The product of misplacing my favorite braided belt. I still have no idea where I put it. Oh nooes.

When in doubt, wear a crop top

I love this outfit for two reasons: one: the H&M crop top puts itself to good use because it can magically transform into a faux dress top; two: I get to wear my widow’s headband! Hahahaha. I really don’t get to wear it often enough, so when an opportunity presents itself, I grab it.

Also, that vintage belt is a favorite because it practically turns plain into classy. On a different note though, I can’t wait to get contacts. Then I can go funky eyewear shopping. Haha! Oh, life.
